Cancer and Cannabinoids
Cancer and Cannabinoids. How are the two connected? A recent Project CBD article introduces a summary of literature and research regarding cannabinoids and how they may help cancer patients. Basically, cancer cells have cannabinoid receptors. THC and CBD can attach to the receptors, making the cancer cells inactive, called apoptosis. Cells that metastasize have more receptors, making them even more susceptible to cannabinoids’ binding and killing. When they bind to the receptors, THC and CBD can also reduce blood flow to cancerous cells. Researchers found that combined cannabinoids (THC, CBD and CBG together) have much more positive results. This exciting research shows yet another possibility of cannabinoids improving lives! For more information, read the article in full: https://projectcbd.org/health/the-cannabis-cancer-connection/
